Queen of Nazi Bills! 1939 20 Marks w Aryan Girl/Edelweiss Flower Symbolizing Etnic Purity

ARYAN QUEEN of THE ALPS This scarce original Nazi banknote was issued in 1939, the first year of WW2. It's larger than most other Nazi currency and is beautifully engraved to boot. A large blue Swastika sits at the very center of the front, surrounded by ornate lettering, intricate pastel patterns and another Swastika in the Great Seal of the Third Reich at the lower left. But the most distinguishing feature is the large image at the right, portraying a beautiful German (or Austrian) Fraulein (young lady) before an alpine mountain range. She is the epitome of Aryan beauty (blonde with large blue eyes and perfect symmetrical features). To further the message of Aryan purity, she is holding an Edelweiss Flower, the whitest and purest of all alpine flowers. The equally ornate back shows her male counterparts, one a woodsman, the other a farmer, flanking a pristine Alpine lake. This is one of the scarcest of vignetted Nazi banknotes in the 1 to 100 Mark range, and is hard to find in better condition. Very lightly circulated and still rather crisp with just 2-4 light surface folds. Great collectible condition without tears, splits, holes, stains, pen marks or missing pieces. May have a very light trace of aging.
